James Swartz kwam in de jaren '70 tot Zelfrealisatie bij een
traditionele Advaita Vedanta leraar. In deze vijfdaagse maak je kennis met de
traditionele Advaita Vedanta die James systematisch stap voor stap ontvouwt.
Nadat hij helder heeft uiteengezet wat je nodig hebt om dit pad te kunnen betreden
en misverstanden over verlichting heeft behandeld, passeert de eeuwenoude wijsheid
van het Zelf, het causale, subtiele en grove lichaam de revue.
Op een werkelijk meesterlijke manier, levendig en met humor, ontvouwt hij deze
eeuwenoude wijsheid die veel deelnemers aan zijn retreats doet ontwaken. En terwijl
het Zelf alleen herkend kan worden door (voorbij het intellect gaande) Kennis,
en er niets te doen valt voor verlichting omdat wij al lang Bewustzijn zijn, maakt
hij praktisch duidelijk dat een zuivere levensstijl (karma yoga) beslist bevorderlijk
is. Hij gaat hier ook praktisch op in.
James leidt iedere dag een meditatie, er zal iedere dag een speciale vraag- en
antwoordsessie zijn en Dick Nijssen biedt iedere ochtend een Zhineng Qigong les
aan.
Op deze site staat een schat aan informatie waaronder sommige van zijn boeken, die gratis te downloaden zijn. Een aanrader is zijn autobiografie 'Mystic by default', die leest als een spannende avonturenroman. Ook zeer veel satsangs zijn gratis te downloaden.
James geeft zijn retreats op basis van vrijwillige donatie.
De retreat op Helios is inclusief volpension.
De volpensionkosten voor deze retreat bedragen € 325,-. Hiervoor slaap je in een twee- of meerpersoonskamer. Een eenpersoonskamer heeft een toeslag van € 10,-. per dag.
We adviseren je, om het maximum uit deze retreat te halen, een serie van 16 DVD's genaamd 'Self-Inquiry', te bestellen. Deze DVD's omvatten het complete raamwerk van zijn teaching. Je kunt dat doen door € 99,- over te maken op RABO rek. 3965124141 t.n.v. Helios Reiki Centrum. Haal je de DVD's zelf af bij Helios dan betaal je € 95,-.

James Swartz discovered his True Nature in the seventies through a traditional Advaita Vedanta Teacher. In this five-day retreat James leads you through a systematic process of Self-Inquiry. During these days you are invited to let go of all concepts which are illusion-based and which keep you from living from a non-dual perspective.
James is a long term scholar of Advaita Vedanta. He teaches the pure, traditional form as conveyed by realized masters throughout the ages. In this retreat it will become clear that there is something 'to do': the purification of mind and body which enables the light of our true Self to shine with greater clarity; thus making it possible to recognize it as That which we truly are.
James will guide us daily in a meditation, there will be a daily questions-and-answers session and every morning before breakfast Dick Nijssen will offer a Zhineng Qigong lesson.

James gives his retreat on the basis of voluntary donation.
The retreat at Helios is on the basis of full room and board, which costs € 325,-. For a single bedroom there is an additional cost of € 10,- per day.
It is advisable to order a serie of DVD's which covers the essence of his teaching to get the most out of this retreat.

Advaita/Non- duality is not new. It is an ancient science with a proven methodology. Many people have realized that they are one with all life. Over thousands of years they developed logical practical ways of experiencing and knowing oneness.
When you start to look within with the help of this method it may feel as if someone or something is watching you. This impersonal watcher that lights up your thoughts is often called the 'witness.' What you will discover if you take this journey into consciousness is that that kindly light that is watching you is actually who you are! This simple light that shines in your heart shines in the hearts of everything. It, you, is everything and yet is is free of everything at the same time. This freedom, this aloneness that is the nature of conscious beings, is not at all lonely. It is just the understanding that nothing but you exist. When you know this you will be completely comforted. You will feel content.
When you know yourself as awareness the existential problem is solved because the world appears in you, not the other way around. The world is an object and you, awareness, can never get in it. It is always outside. You are inside where there is only light and peace. Investigate to see if this isn't true. And once you have identified yourself as awareness and rest in that identity you will come to see that what seems to be outside is actually inside and the duality of outside and inside loses its meaning. What you see and what you are are one.
